Do You Fear Commitment? Conquer It Here And Now!
7 Simple Steps To Master Commitment
Commitment is a Scary Word.
Getting over a fear can be hard. Mastering anything takes practice and courage.
And sometimes all you need is a simple method to become committed.
Does it feel like being trapped, no escape? Maybe you have been so conditioned to consider yourself by what others think of you. A catch 22 situation.
Thinking things through, looking at alternatives, and the consequences. Can relieve the pain.
But there is no substitute for actually getting off your butt and doing something.
Otherwise... it doesn't get done, achieved, or conquered.
And it is a good practice to get the advice of other people. You've got to be careful who you asked.
There are many people who have gone before you, tried and did something never done before. And as many who failed at their first attempt. And tried again.
Find those people, ask their advice.
Eddison was considered a failure.
He had tried thousands of times to get the light bulb to work. But stopped the nay-sayers short, with his reply. "I haven't failed, I've found thousands of way it won't work". And continued on, until he discovered that one way. And today we are not groping in the dark or by flickering candlelight.
Conor Mcgregor has a beautiful affirmation. "I win or I learn. I never fail."
So... continue on. Find what lights your candle, makes a fire in your belly, and go after it.
Go forward, or go back. There is no choice.
In Africa, after they had finished breakfast, a group of hikers was getting ready for the days trek. The track was from one side to the other through the center of a large flat crater. The grass was shoulder high. An all-day walk.
The camp was being packed into trucks, and then drove to the other side of the crater, to set up and wait for the hikers.
As the trucks drove off, the hikers set off as well.
At about noon, and halfway through the crater. One of the hikers became nervous, frightened. He was convinced he was being stalked by a lion and wanted to go back.
The others tried explaining the situation.
There is nothing to go back to. The camp had moved as we left. It was the same distance back in the same tall grass. The only way out was to keep going. Lion or no lion. Grass or no grass.
He would have the same dread, going back just as much, as going forward.
So... go forward anyway.
