How To Actually Feel Fantastic With Two Breaths

Calm down, relax, get a hold of yourself.

How often have you heard, calm down, relax, it will be ok!

Your Bodies Natural Default Mechanism

But nobody said HOW to feel better. You can with two breaths.

The Vagus nerve No. 10 runs from your brain to your abdomen. The Vagus nerve elicits the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, this tells your lungs to breathe. Also, the release of acetylcholine activates the release of prolactin, oxytocin, and vasopressin proteins.

When in a stirred up state your fight or flight response kicks in. Adrenaline and cortisol are pumped into your blood. And you are told to take a deep breath.

But why and how?

You can calm yourself, by consciously deep breathing into your abdomen. This manually stimulates the Vagus nerve to release acetylcholine, which in turn activates the release of prolactin, oxytocin, and vasopressin proteins.

Which calms you.

So there is a lot of truth to, take a deep breath, hold your breath.

How to calm yourself intentionally.

Take a long slow gentle deep breath, not forced, all the way to fill and push out your stomach. Hold for a couple of seconds. Then release equally slowly and gently. Do this twice.

For a better effect, close your eyes.

So, if you have been able to use this technique and feel better, please leave a comment.
