I guarantee some people who read this section could be very rich in a few years. You may be one of them.
It is possible some who read this section and put the proven property prayer to work in their lives could be millionaires many times over. Why not you?
I base these statements on my own experience. Not what I’ve been told but what God and I actually experienced together.
And speaking of experiencing things together, I want to ask a favor of you. In Asking And Getting What You Want which you are now reading, I’ve shared with you the secrets of prayers that truly do cause miracles to happen in your life. I’ve also opened my heart to you, told you intimate details of my private life.
The favor I want to ask is for you to share with me by writing and telling me about your experiences using what you’ve learned after reading this booklet. What this boils down to is I am asking you to do your part in building our friendship together by writing to each other. I want to be your friend and to help you. And I want you to be my friend.
I hope before too much time passes you will include our friendship in your prayers to God. Maybe like this: “God, I know all things come from you. I thank you for making it possible for me to read Asking And Getting What You Want. And I thank you for the new friendship with Tom Hall who offers to help me to be more successful through a richer life and better understanding of You as he experienced.”
You do this for me and my life will be fuller too with your friendship. I guarantee the day I get your letter, I’ll get on my knees and thank God for my new friendship with you. After all, God is your Father as well as mine. So in this sense, we actually are his children – spiritually related to each other. Wonderful when you think about it.
Profit with property
Showing you how to profit with property is only one of the many areas in which my experience can help you. I want to give you the benefit of this experience so you can know how to have God answer your property prayer to bring money into your life.
Before we get into how you can get all the property you want through prayer, let me tell you something about asking. Let’s talk about how to ask.
I’ve tried many forms of asking. The best is to find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. I suggest you get down on your knees. Bow your head. Close your eyes. Clasp your hands in front of your chest. This position shows God you are defenseless and at his mercy.

When you are on your knees you are in the most vulnerable position where you cannot quickly defend yourself. This is why people in olden times bowed before their master or ruler. Not that God will want to attack you, but this position is a courtesy to show God you are his subject.
Some people claim they can pray while driving a car. Or after they get into bed at night before they go to sleep. I think praying in bed is a lazy way to pray and shows God you do not respect Him enough to get on your knees if you are physically able to do so.
As for praying while you drive, I think any prayer during the day when problems or emergencies arise is acceptable to God. To pray without ceasing is a laudable goal but hardly practical because we have to get on with human contact in daily living.
But short prayers as we go through the day is a fine habit and shows God we indeed turn our lives over to Him. After all, He is your best friend. You can talk to Him and ask His help just as you would your best pal.
When you are talking to God, use your regular way of talking. Leave the flowery phrases to the preachers who are shouting at the congregation to impress someone other than God.
Book of Mathew in the 6th Chapter warns us not to pray as the hypocrites do standing on the corner shouting or loudly praying in church because those have their rewards by the attention they attract. Mathew goes on to say when you pray go into your closet and shut the door and pray to your Father in secret and your Father will reward you openly.
You should always pray silently. Prayer is a very personal thing between you and God. The bible tells you about the show-offs who pray loudly in public. Verbal prayer is show-off prayer. I admire pastors who tell the congregation to bow their heads for silent prayer.
Prayer is the one to one method of communication between you and God. No one can do your praying for you.
I have friends who join hands and pray silently before each meal thanking God for His bounty placed before them. The feeling that goes through all of us while we pray for a minute in silent prayer before our meal is wonderful. My experience tells me joining hands and praying silently is splendid Christian fellowship at its best. I’m sure this pleases God.
Asking is like any other activity. The more you do it, the more efficient you become. So the earlier you begin, the better you will be at asking. More important, the sooner a person learns God does indeed answer, the more confident the person becomes that God is real, and exists within all of us to help when asked.
After all, didn’t Jesus promise that if we ask, it will be given to us? Seek and we will find. Knock and it will be opened. Do you believe Jesus? If not, do you think Jesus lied? No, Jesus did not lie.
We ask, we seek and we knock with prayer to the God who loves us and promises to give us anything if we believe. And anything certainly includes property.
Here is how I asked God for property. And here is what God did in answer to my prayer.
At the time I decided to ask God for property, I was at crossroads in my life.
I was wrestling with the decision of whether to expand the business or to sell the business and buy three duplexes which would give me six rental units. I thought the rent from six units would pay the monthly household expenses for my growing family.
Weeks went by while I mulled over this problem of what to do. My wife finally said she was in favor of business expansion if a decision had to be made.
Her reasoning was we were young enough that if expanding proved to be a mistake, there would be time in our lives to pick up the pieces and start over. I knew I could not expand and buy rental property too. So I took this problem to God in prayer.
Property blessing on a small scale
I asked God if He could find some way of giving me a property blessing on a small scale while at the same time I used what capital we had to expand our business. I felt this would be a tough one for God to handle. But I knew He had never let me down so I was curious to see how my best friend was going to do this for me. The answer was not long coming.
Earlier I had spoken with two real estate agents about my proposed idea to buy the duplexes. One called on me with an interesting offer. A lady owned a frame triplex near the hospital. She had to move to Arizona with her mother for health reasons. She wanted to sell the property but she did not want hardly any down payment. What she wanted was a good buyer who would make monthly payments on time so she could get the interest on the note.
The income on the property was over $200 a month and she only wanted a monthly payment of about $75 including interest. She also stipulated that the buyer would maintain the property in good condition and not milk the income with no repairs when needed.
The total price of the property was about eight thousand dollars. Even so, I worried about whether to take on this responsibility. The figures I’ve mentioned are low by today’s property price standards but in those days I could well remember the depression of the 1930s when a family lived on as little as $12 a week. Even so, I knew God had given me this opportunity in answer to my prayer. I took this decision again to God and asked Him to guide me in making up my mind. His reply was positive so I signed the note for the property. Then I had a triplex with an outlay down payment on my part of only a couple of hundred dollars. I could recoup my down payment in only three or four months after paying the monthly payment.
Upgrade the property
Once I had the responsibility of the property, I wanted to paint the triplex. A friend’s father was a retired house painter who was restless in retirement. He said he would do a beautiful job painting the property if I would let him do the job at his own pace which would not be fast. I agreed.
He took about six weeks but he did an outstanding job of painting the triplex an olive green with black trim on the shutters. This combination made the property the best one on the block.
Then he suggested a small brick retaining wall on the front slope of the property adjoining the sidewalk. He could do this work too and he did. His prices were so reasonable I could pay him out of the monthly rent surplus. I was maintaining the property as I promised the seller and I was upgrading the appearance of the property.
What I’ve just told you in detail is information that is going to go a long way toward building your own fortune if you want to give God a property prayer request.
Here is what happened after the property was upgraded with none of my private capital put into it – only surplus rent money.
Upgrading pays dividends
I was speaking with a man I knew about this piece of property. He asked to see it and I showed it to him. He was impressed. Later he called and said his mother and father were interested in property and they would like to see what I’d done with this older triplex. Since I was proud of the property, I was pleased to show it to anyone.
A few weeks after my friend’s parents asked me to show them the triplex, they called and asked to visit my office. During the visit, they asked if I would take a ride with them because they wanted to show me something.
What they wanted me to see was a nine-unit property in two buildings they owned. They explained they wanted to retire. They did not want to collect rents because they hoped to travel. They proposed I buy the property with almost no down payment. They would carry the balance due at 6% and the monthly payment would not be more than 40% of the rental income. They wanted an understanding that I would upgrade the property as I did the triplex.
I agreed because I had nothing to lose. Instead of three units in the triplex, I now had a total of twelve units. I contacted the painter who did the triplex work and he went to work on the nine units.
The retired painter was an artist at choosing colors and mixing paints. Just as with the triplex, he was soon to have the nine-unit property sparkling. In addition to the outside, when a unit would become vacant, he would paint and refinish the unit inside. Gradually all units were upgraded to like new condition.
The sellers were so pleased they asked me to buy a twenty unit they had with the same down payment which was almost no down payment. Finally, they asked me to take over a six-unit which was all they had. At this point, I had thirty-eight units and I insisted each unit be as nice inside as the house where I lived.
Even though maintenance work went on all the time, a surplus of money began to build up in the rental income account. More important, my reputation for taking the best care of rental property began to spread among older owners who wanted to retire.
The owners knew I would give, instead of milking dry the property, by keeping the property in first class condition. As a result, owners who wanted to retire and turn their property over to a trustworthy person began coming to me. One man with sixty units. Another couple with sixty-eight units. Another with thirty-five duplexes. Soon I had almost three hundred units all over town. All bought with virtually no down payment.
What started out as a small idea to provide income for my family in case my business failed turned out to be more profitable than the business. God’s idea for me was greater than my own idea. When you put the property idea into prayer, God will surely guide you to the right property as he did me.
Sound property advice
When you ask God for a property blessing, ask Him to lead you to a property you can get with little or no down payment with the owner carrying the balance. It is best if the monthly payments are not more than 40% of the rental income.
If you buy through a real estate agent and the owner wants enough down to cover the agent’s commission, refuse this request. Tell the owner to pay the agent monthly as you make the payments. Agents will wait. They have nothing in the deal except their time.
Most of the time you will not be working through an agent but directly with the owner. However, my experience with real estate agents is very satisfactory. Their survival usually depends on getting repeat business so they have a vested interest in dearly fairly.
This is especially true when you deal through an agent who is entitled to be classified as a Realtor. Since you are not interested in paying cash for the property or even making a big down payment, you will want to consider only deals where the owners act as the mortgage company by carrying the mortgage themselves.
It is very important for you to make the monthly payments on time. This builds confidence. The seller may be testing you. Once they know you are trustworthy by how you perform, they may have other property for you to take over. At the very least they will tell their friends about you. Their friends may have property they want to sell on a long-term basis so they can get the interest each month along with the principal.
If owning property is your wish, take your need to your best friend, God.
If the thought enters your mind that maybe God did for me but may not do for you, let me assure you of one thing: God loves you just as much as He does me. He does not love one of His children more than He does another.

Stop and think for a minute what your life will be like when you have a hundred rental units – or 300 units! You will have thousands of dollars coming in week after week – an endless flow of big money. You will have managers taking care of your property and bringing you stacks of cash every week.
You can buy anything you want. Your family can have every wish granted by your wisdom and generosity. You will be the most respected and best-loved person among all who know you and with whom you share your life.
As good as all this sounds – and it is good beyond imagination – the best of all is you can really share when God gives you the opportunity to see need as it arises. The best intentions are not much when you have no money to share. But with a property blessing, you have almost unlimited income to really share as God wants you to do.
And sharing is planting seeds – every dollar you share brings a harvest of even more blessings. Think about what a rich and full life can be yours as soon as you put the proven recommendations in this section into practice. God could do all this for you just as He did for me – if you believe and if you ask.
Owning property is not only collecting rents. With so many units you need resident managers. You need an overseer to manage the managers. You need maintenance men to keep up so units in top condition. Trustworthy help is not always easy to find.
Most renters are a pleasure to rent to. But there is always about 3% of the renters who make trouble by not paying rent or damaging the property. You have to have the wisdom and patience of King Solomon to handle the disputes that come your way.
Easy way to get money
God did not promise I would have trouble-free property. I point this out so you know owning property is more than just collecting rents. Compared to many businesses, owning property is a relatively easy way to get money but owning property is not without its share of problems. I want you to know this before you begin accumulating property after you go to God with your property request.
My property was in Texas. As the years went by I found myself more and more involved in businesses in the Orient, mainly Japan where I spent about years. It is not possible to manage three hundred units in Texas from Japan. So what did I do with the property in Texas?
The same as I did with the extra cars God gave me in answer to my transportation prayer. I began to give away almost all of this property.
After all, most of it was almost given to me in answer to my property prayer. My reason for wanting the property was to provide security for my children. Soon the children were grown. So it seemed only right to give the property to those who needed a property blessing.
Do you remember in the Bible the warning that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven? This is true if the rich man covets gold more than he values his relationship with God.
I’ve given away cars, real estate, fortunes and many other valuable material things God gave me without a second thought. I know the more I give, the more God loves me and He will give me all I need and want. God gave me almost three hundred rental units to answer my need. He gave them to me because He knew when that need was met, I’d give the units away. I do not miss the units. I’ve never regretted for one minute giving them away.
What I would never give away is my love for God. Nor would I trade His love for me for all the universe. Once you can truly say this and prove it by sharing, then God will know you truly BELIEVE. And He has promised those of us who truly BELIEVE, and prove our belief by sharing, anything we ask for in prayer.
Sharing is the keyword if you are to build your fortune with God’s help.
Remember the first triplex I got in answer to my property prayer? From the very beginning, I shared all the property income by upgrading the property. When the outside was redone, I began on the inside of the building like new. This not only made the seller happy but attracted new sellers who almost gave me the property. Every move I made was positive and this attracted people to me.
Suppose I had been the classic taker. If so, every dollar above expenses I would have held to my breast. If that were the case, then I’d not let a penny be spent on the property because of my love for money. The property would have become shabby. No one would be attracted to me to give me their property. I would never have more than three units.
Real life example
Surely you can see by this real-life example how God rewards the givers of this world and how the selfish takers never have much in the way of property or friends.
When God answers your property prayer with the first small piece of property, start from the first day to be a giver. God will bless you. Soon you will have so many units you will not know what to do with all of them. When your need for property is satisfied, do as God wants you to do – give away the property. Share with others – and God will bless you far beyond your expectations.
You must realize when you give something to your fellow man you are planting seeds. And the harvest God gives you, as a result, is always far greater and of more value than what you gave away. This is proven by my life’s experience. By using my life as proof that God keeps His promises, your own life can be richer.
Now, for the conclusion of this section and the property prayer.
You should ask in a quiet place on your knees. Head bowed and hands clasped on your chest. You may also pray in any position as you go about your activities but praying on your knees shows God the greatest respect.
Your choice of words used in your prayers should be the same words you use when talking to your best friend. God is your best friend. God loves you so relax and speak naturally to Him.
Pray silently. Verbal prayer is showing off prayer. Verbal prayer is to impress those who hear the prayer, not to impress God. You talk to God in silent prayer, you do not try to impress Him.
Concerning others, do not pray unasked for prayers. Don’t meddle in others affairs unless asked. Prayers are very personal between God’s children and God. While another’s conduct may not be acceptable to you, that person’s conduct may be acceptable to God. Judgment is God’s exclusive right.
Put your faith in God, not gold. Do not hold every penny you get from God tightly to your breast. God will answer your property prayer abundantly if you share and plant seeds first. God rewards a giver.

Positive Property Prayer
Father, there is a need in my life to share and to plant seeds that I think can be greatly expressed if I owned rental property. In addition, I want to provide security for (name those who depend on you).
You know I do not have money to pay cash or make a big down payment.
Father, please bless me with any piece of property so I can prove to You my sincere intention of greater sharing.
I know owning property is not trouble-free. The management and maintenance problems must be met on a daily basis. But I feel confident I can take care of these problems in a loving way with Your guidance because I know You are always with me.
Father, please make me extra aware as I go forward to recognize the opportunity for a property blessing when an opportunity presents itself, almost hits me in the face. Give me courage to make the decision to take on the property, deliver me from timidity.
I know all things come from You. I thank You for all the things in my life.
My need for You, Father, and my need for Your love are the greatest needs in my life.
Thank you, Father. I feel confident you will grant my prayer for a property blessing. Amen.
