As I walked out of the bank into the busy noontime crowd, I shook my head. “Is this really true?” I kept asking myself. I looked again at the deposit slip. Sure enough, it plainly stated one hundred thousand dollars had been deposited into my account! More money than I ever dreamed of having at one time.
How I got this money and how you can get this much or a great deal more than $100,000.00 is the subject of this first section. (In another section if you want a fortune from real estate, you’ll see how to get it just by asking for it. I did this and I’ll show you how easy it really is. So read on and prepare yourself for big changes in your life.)
Before I begin, let me make a confession. Since what you are about to read concerns intimate details of my personal life, I started to write this under a pen name to avoid embarrassment. Once I realized trying to hide behind a false name was only false pride, I felt ashamed.
So I’m going to set these words to paper signed by my true name: Thomas L. Hall. Only in this way can you have the secrets of positive asking to bring more money and more good fortune into your life too – just as God guarantees.
It is easy to get… so ask for it!
Use these positive asking prayers in your own life to see how easy it is for you to get anything you want. What’s so special about these prayers? The asking prayers at the end of each chapter are stronger than any prayers you’ve been taught.
God loves asking this way. Proof is the fact He answers so fully, you may cry out for Him to stop the blessings. You get too much of what you ask God to give you.
Skeptical? Of course you may be. But once you read the copy of Asking And Getting What You Want …positive prayer secrets now in your hands, and once you put the powerful prayers to work in your life, your skepticism turns to iron bound faith in positive asking.
Please pay close attention to what I’m going to tell you now. Unless I got all I wanted from God through positive asking, I’d stopped asking long ago. Let’s face facts. Why waste time asking if your prayers are not answered? Reverse this statement. Once you use these positive prayers and since God gives you every luxury and comfort you ask Him for in prayer – you keep on asking! Right? Of course.
And that’s exactly why I ask. I pray because it is profitable for me to do so. This is what God wants me to do. Soon you will ask as I do. This is what God wants you to do. And then you will have more of everything in your life just as I do in mine.
“… see how easy it is to get anything you want.”
Getting more of everything from God is why you asked me for your copy of Asking And Getting What You Want and why you are now reading it. As you read, you are going to see lots of proof that God answers prayer. (God is especially generous with you when you learn to share.) Now, here is what happened that put $100,000.00 in my bank account. And how you can get that much or a great deal more.
This proof of answered prayer in my life started after WWII. Like millions at the time, I was discharged from the service. Came home to Texas and got married. With the overhead of both a young family and a small business, money was tight. I went to God in prayer and asked Him for a financial blessing.
A few weeks before God gave me the financial blessing in answer to my prayer, I was experiencing one of the lowest points of my life. Car payments were past due. Mortgage payments were past due. Utility bills were paid at the last minute to keep the lights and gas from being shut off. The situation was hopeless.
What can you do?
I hope you never have to face this type of misery. If this should happen to you, take comfort in knowing you will know how to face that trouble because of what you are about to read.
One night I was propped up in bed with a pad and pencil trying to work out another budget. My young son came into the room and stood beside the bed. “Daddy, why do you always have frowning face?” He asked.
“Son, I might as well tell you now because my frowning face concerns you and all of us. The problem is simple: there is not enough money to pay our bills. One solution will be to move from this house into a cheaper one in another part of town. I’m sorry but this seems one way of cutting our expenses a little and every little bit will help.”
He looked at me and I knew he was thinking over what I’d said. Finally, he turned his little hand palm side up and said, “Daddy, I don’t care where we live as long as you always love me.” I reached out and pulled him into my arms and held him close so he would not see the tears spilling down my cheeks.
“I’ve always loved you, son, and I will until the day I die. Don’t you ever worry about that.”
I put him in the bed beside me. I suggested he draw some pictures and tell me what they meant which he liked to do.
After a while he was sleepy and I carried him into his room and put him to bed. When he was tucked in I kissed him goodnight. He opened his drowsy eyes and asked me a question. “Daddy, are we poor because God does not love us anymore?” He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep without waiting for an answer.
Then understanding struck. I knew how much I loved my son. I knew I’d do anything for him, give my life if necessary. So what about God who created me? I was God’s son. Didn’t it stand to reason that my Father, God, loved me every bit as much as I loved my own son? Of course it did!
I believed in God just as much as my son believed in me. And didn’t God promise us anything if we believed in Him? God sure did promise us anything if we believed and if we asked.
So what was I doing suffering the sin of financial lack instead of asking?
All of this crossed my mind as I stood there looking down at my boy. The pressure in my head eased. I felt I had a possible way out of all this financial mess.
The first step
I went back to the bedroom, entered the closet and closed the door, got down on my knees, bowed my head and clasped my hands. I’d tried everything else: worrying, pacing back and forth, scribbling one unworkable budget after another, trying to cut every corner – all useless motions using my own power. Now I reckoned I’d just place this in God’s lap and ask Him to use His power for change.
“… you can be as rich as you want to be when you read what I am about to tell you.”
After praying, I got up off my knees with all the tension gone. I had a good solid feeling in my heart that everything was going to be alright.
Nothing tangible had really changed. I owed as much money as I ever did. I had no idea how tomorrow or the day after would bring me any change in my financial situation. But I did know I was not going to worry myself sick about it anymore.
Soon things began to happen even though at the time I had no idea they were connected to my prayer. Here is what happened. And how this affects your money future. You can be as rich as you want to be when you read what I am about to tell you.
A salesman friend of mine came by the business on his regular call to take our order for supplies. During the conversation, he asked me if I had a temporary job for his son who had recently graduated from college and was waiting to go into the army during the Korean war draft.
The young man came to work in the shipping room. He was willing and did his work well.
About a month later I stopped the young man and told him he could take off extra holidays with pay the following week to celebrate his faith’s high holy days. I explained the rest of us took paid holidays at Christmas. Since he would not be with us at Christmas time because he would be in the army, please take paid holidays the following week. He thanked me and said he would think about it.
The next week he did not take the time off. I forgot about this small matter. But God did not forget.
Later, when the young man’s father called on us again, the father told me my offer of giving his son time off for religious observance was the subject of conversation at their home during the holiday period.
He went on to say the young man’s grandfather was so impressed, the grandfather wanted to have lunch with me to express his appreciation. I told my friend it was not necessary because I had done nothing.
He would not hear of it. So I finally told him to bring the grandfather with him the next time he called on us and I’d take them both to lunch as my guest at a fast food fried chicken place near our store.
My friend looked at me and started laughing. “Don’t you know who my son’s grandfather is?” When I admitted my ignorance, he told me his son’s maternal grandfather was the senior director of the largest bank in that part of Texas. The invitation to lunch was in the private executive dining room of the bank’s new multi-million-dollar building. My friend was not invited. Only the grandfather and I were to meet for lunch.
I was floored with this information. And I was scared. This was really tall cotton in my part of Texas – way out of my league. Not only would it mean I would have to wear a suit and tie, which I never did because I worked right along with our small workforce, it meant I’d have to talk about big business. About which I knew very little, certainly not from experience at that point in my life.
Accept the invitation
That night I took this to God in prayer and asked Him what I was to do. His answer was loud and clear – go. Accept the invitation. I did.
The grandfather turned out to be a grand old gentleman in his 80s with a long history of successful business development in Texas.
Near the end of our lunch, the grandfather asked me where I did my business banking. I told him I had a small checking account in his bank but the account seldom had much of a balance because we needed every dollar to keep alive.
He said his grandson told him how hard I worked and how the business kept trying to expand. He suggested I borrow a large sum of money. I told him I thought our credit line was at its outer limits as it was.
He laughed and gave me some sound advice. “When you have the chance to borrow money to use in your business, take the money. Make repayment terms for twice as long as you need. Payback in half the agreed time. Wait a few weeks. Then go to the lender and ask for 50% more than you got the first time.”
I agreed that was good advice and I would try it. He chuckled and told me to come with him. He took me to the major loan department and introduced me to a senior loan officer. He said to the officer, “This young man has an account with this bank. And he has a growing business. I want you to draw a loan for one hundred thousand dollars, with no payments for six months and then 1/6 payable each thirty days after six months. Interest to be two points above prime. I’ll give my approval of the loan and take responsibility.”
That was it. The grandfather shook hands with me and told me to drop by and see him whenever I had time to spare. I stood there like a rock shaking my head. I did not know what to say. “Thank you,” was all I could mumble.
The loan officer filled out a deposit form and drew some loan papers which I signed. Then we walked over to the teller’s cage where the deposit slip was stamped and a copy given to me.
I walked out into the noontime crowd shaking my head in disbelief as I told you in the beginning of this section.
When I got back to the store, my friend’s son met me with a smile and said, “My grandfather is a remarkable man, isn’t he?” I had to agree. When I asked if he knew his grandfather would offer me a large loan, he replied loaning money was his grandfather’s business so he guessed I would have the chance if I wanted money.
He went on to say his grandfather had a hobby of loaning young businessmen large amounts if both the business and the owner showed potential. When I said this must be risky, he said his grandfather claimed he had never lost a cent with these loans which any bank in its right mind would refuse solely on a financial statement.
With this large loan, my business quickly doubled. I paid off the loan before it was due.
Small vs large
When I thanked God for granting me this financial blessing, He laughed and we both felt good. I can tell you right now I sure was glad I did not ask God for a small blessing! I needed money. The amount is up to Him, I advise you to let God decide how large a financial blessing He will give you.
If you crave money, do not think of two hundred dollars when God has in mind one hundred thousand for you.
Trust Him. He is your Father. He is your partner. He is your best friend. He loves you. So ask!
Always know this: your one to one relationship with God is more than the most profitable thing in your life – IT IS THE ONLY IMPORTANT THING IN YOUR LIFE. You know this. Or you will know it after you read all that is written here for you.
One of the most exciting things about asking is getting more than you want. When you think He has fulfilled your prayer order, it may be only the beginning.
You have every right to ask me if only offering a young man of a different religion paid holidays in September was enough to cause God to answer my prayer for money. My answer would be an unqualified ‘yes’ because the huge bank loan was only the beginning of the prayer answer.
Remember, when we share, when we go out of our way to do our fellow man, God knows. And God rewards sharing with answered prayer.
Why?
Because God is a giver. God is never a taker. God loves a giver.
If you are a giver, you dry the tears from God’s eyes You are one of the blessed. And in your sharing. God showers abundance upon you.
Let me give you proof.
Let’s go back more than fifty years to a middle-class family scene. Dinner is finished and the family is sitting around listening to Amos and Andy on the radio when the doorbell rings. A man asked to talk with my father. He introduced himself as a neighborhood resident even though we did not know him. He said he came by to tell us of a new Baptist church that would be built in our part of town and to ask us to visit their church.
“One of the most exciting things about asking is getting more than you want.”
My father told him we were Methodists but we would be happy to visit when the church was completed. The man showed us an artists rendition of the proposed church. It was very beautiful. The man was embarrassed to say he had to ask if we would like to make any small contribution to the building fund.
I was surprised when my father said he would like to contribute and wrote the man a check for $50. Not a big sum but equal to 20 times 50 dollars today.
After the man left I asked my father why we were giving $50 of our scarce money to the Baptist church? My father taught me one of the strongest lessons of my life when he said the man should be helped. The man was a good person my father said. And we should consider it an opportunity from God to help – TO PLANT SEEDS.
Dad went on to say when we have the chance to plant seeds by sharing with others, we are always, without fail, rewarded. And rewarded far more than we expect.
Later I heard a sermon by a pastor, W. Angie Smith, that told of bread cast upon the water. My father’s advice about seeds and Pastor Smith’s sermon about bread being cast changed my life.
Planting seeds proof
Move this story ahead by more than twenty-five years. One of our company’s suppliers called and asked me to go to lunch. I agreed. When we got to the delicatessen he saw two of his friends, so we sat with them. During the conversation, his friends told about their difficulties in raising money for a temple to be built in our Texas town.
When I got back to my office I kept thinking about their trouble to raise funds. And the long-ago memory of the Baptist man who called on us after dinner came to my mind. On impulse, I reached for my checkbook, wrote a check and sent it to one of the men and told him I wished him well in his efforts to raise money for the temple. Once done, I forgot all about it.
Not long after my friend called on me and said he had a funny story to tell. It seems the man who got my check told all the temple fundraisers at their meeting about my gift. They said it was the first time to get a check from someone of another faith. Then someone suggested maybe they had an untapped market of potential donors.
I laughed along with my friend’s telling the story – and that was that as far as I was concerned, but not as far as God was concerned.
It was about this time in my business when we reached another point that called for a decision to move to larger quarters and try to borrow much greater sums of money or remain as we were which would eventually lead to stagnation because a business has to go forward, it cannot stand still.
I’d taken this problem to God in prayer and again asked Him for an infusion of capital in our business. I asked three times and left it up to Him.
Some weeks later, my supplier friend called on me with the visiting president of his company whose headquarters was in New York City. The president looked around our business and asked me how his company could have a larger share of our volume.
I told the president our credit line with the bank was to its limit because of recent business increase. Also, our credit line with his company was as much as I could ask for at that time.
The president smiled and asked how much could I buy if I had the extended credit. We looked over sales figures.
He looked at me and said, “Your credit line has just been extended and it will be raised as you need the merchandise.”
“…when we have the chance to plant seeds by sharing with others, we are always, without fail, rewarded.”
I was so surprised, I looked at him and blurted out, “How could you be president of your company going around giving credit like this when our company is already fully extended?” This was not a diplomatic thing to say to a man who just agreed to pour a ton of money into your business.
The president looked at me and said, “The real reason why I am extending your credit line is that when a man cares enough about people to make the contribution you did to help build the local temple, I want that man on my side. I am not the least concerned about you paying the bills when they come due.”
That president’s words again caused me to realize that my father and pastor Smith knew what they were talking about when they spoke of planting seeds.
I’ve often said a prayer of thanks for all Baptists in honor of that man from the Baptist church who called on us fifty years ago. Look at any need as a God-given opportunity for you to share by planting seeds. And plant those seeds.
Earlier planted seeds (a contribution to help build the local temple) caused that president to grant us a larger line of credit.
My relationship with the company president continued in America and later in Japan until his death. I was always indebted to him for his faith in me but mostly I appreciated his efforts which again proved prayer is answered in the most unlikely ways.
But first you have to pray to God a powerful prayer I will show you later in this section. You have to ask your Father who is waiting to give you anything you want. You must plant seeds and you must share.
And you must not be deceived by answered prayers. The things God gives you are only proof of his love. The things are not to be loved more than your relationship with Him. Don’t feel so smug about the thousands of dollars He puts into your bank account. That money is meaningless alongside the most important answered prayer you get. And that is your one to one relationship with God.
In order to understand God and your place in the scheme of things please accept the following.
All things come from God. And that is ALL things. God is the force that created the universe. All of it. This includes you. God created you because He loves you. He created the world for you to roam.
He wanted to construct things so the world could function with a minimum of interference so He put a part of himself inside each of us. You do not pray to an old man off in the clouds. You pray to part of God that lives within you. When you pray, the part of God that is within you will talk back to you – if you will listen.
If you believe in God, really believe, then when you pray, the part of God within you hears and puts into force what is necessary to have your prayers answered. If you are stubborn and refuse to pray, your life can be very difficult. Your willpower will get almost nothing done for you. You can be skeptical, sophisticated and all too smart to believe in God or prayer. That is your option. But you deny your birthright when you do.
“And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive. You can get anything if you believe.” Mathew 21:22
God programmed you to enjoy life. When you run into a situation you do not know how to handle, God gave you a strong aid in prayer to help you get anything you want when you pray for it. How stupid it is not to ask when you need anything! Especially when you need something as unimportant as money.
Shortchanging yourself?
About money, please do not shortchange yourself. By this I mean, if the figures I’ve mentioned in this section seem like big bucks to you – far outside your scope. When I was discharged from the Marines after WWII, I had about $2,000 saved. That’s all. And it was with that small stake and my money prayers to God that I was soon handling money in the hundreds of thousands.
Maybe a thousand dollars or a hundred spare dollars is big money in your life right now. Don’t worry about it. Once you start praying for money to the God who loves you, you will be surprised how quickly you get used to getting and spending large sums of money. God has promised you anything you want – if you believe.
Before I give you the money prayer, here is a brief conclusion of this first section:
You get all the money you want if you ask… and if you believe. Keyword is believe.
Do not make a pest of yourself with God. Go to God as many as three times asking for the same blessing. That is enough. God hears your prayers.
God is not vindictive. He is generous. And he loves you.
Your own willpower is weak at best. For big victories use God’s power. Turn all your problems over to God in prayer.
God is a giver. God loves a giver. The takers of this world make God weep.
God rewards abundantly after you plant seeds of human kindness.
Planting seeds was my first life experience which eventually lead to the discovery of the five powerful prayer secrets.
Pastor Angie Smith’s sermon over 50 years ago concerning bread cast upon the water was the second experience that lead me to the discovery of the five secrets of positive prayer.
A part of God is within each of us. God hears prayer. God answers prayer if we believe, if we share and if we plant seeds.
God promises to give us anything and anything certainly includes all the money you need.

Positive Money Prayer
Father, I’ve come to You on my knees to thank You for the financial lack in my life. I know all things come from You, all conditions come from You. You know I never question Your judgment for my life.
Father, the situation right now is that I badly need a financial blessing for reasons I feel are important. I’ll not say the amount I need, that is up to You as all things are.
But I do need money for the following reasons (give reasons).
Father, I know the value of sharing and planting seeds is an important part of my life to express my love for you. From this point forward I will share more and plant more seeds as You give me the opportunities. Help me see the opportunities.
I love You, Father, with all my heart. Please know as badly as I need the financial blessing, my need for Your love is the greatest need of my life. Thank you for everything, Father. Amen.

(The prayers at the end of each section are based on prayers I’ve used asking God for blessings. It is this type of powerful prayer that God hears and answers. Even so, I wrote each of these prayers after all the sections were written. Before writing the prayers, I went to God on my knees and asked His guidance in writing each prayer. God told me He would write them. It was my job to put the words on paper as you see them. Read each prayer at the end of each section carefully. If you can truthfully say the prayer reflects your true feelings, then use the prayer as a guide to ask God for the blessing you need. If you are surprised that I thanked God for the lack in my life in the Positive Money Prayer, you’ll understand why when you read the next section. TLH)

Why Not?
If there is something you want which you do not have – why not?
If you need gasoline for your car, do you drive to the filling station and sit there without saying a word? You sit and sit feeling frustrated while others drive in and drive out with full tanks of gas. Do you blame the attendant for your own silence?
How Foolish.
And how foolish it is to want anything and not ask the God who loves you for it. Especially when the Bible tells us in the Book of James, “… you have not because you ask not…”
Could God talk to you any plainer than that? Here you are told if you do not have what you want, it is because you do not ask for it.
Also, in John, you are told to ask for anything and God will do it. If it is right to ask for it, it is right to have it.
In Mathew, God tells you that you can have anything if you ask and if you believe.
What could be easier to understand?
If you do not have what you want, ask for it today. God is waiting to give you what you want because He loves you. And in Asking And Getting What You Want, you know how to ask to get whatever it is you want.
God created you and placed you here on Earth. So enjoy your life to the fullest. Why not?
